After returning from Cambodia this summer, I had time to
reflect greatly on the service trip and the children. I learned so much in
Cambodia and also Nicaragua, and I honestly
believe that I have been redefined as an individual because of my experiences
through Children’s Global Alliance. As a sophomore at Battle Mountain, I continually
feel impacted and changed because of the trips. With a new perspective and
deeper values, I have the power to reevaluate situations and their importance
in my life.
When first
hearing of the Tanzania service trip, I was incredibly intrigued. As furthered my research and thought about the opportunity,
my interest in volunteering in Tanzania grew. Now, I am honored to say that I will
be travelling to Tanzania this summer with CGA. We will be volunteering in the
Naserian School and Orphanage in Arusha, Tanzania. There are 150 children at
Naserian. I believe that my experiences
in Nicaragua and Cambodia will guide me remarkably when being challenged in
Tanzania.
As we begin our preparation for the trip, I look forward to fundraising,
volunteering around the Vail Valley, and bonding with my fellow teammates. I am very excited to see what the next few
months hold as we prepare for Tanzania!!!!!
